This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a 2nd-grade classroom full of 24 energetic students. We are in a portable classroom outside of the school. My students are working learning in a fun and focused manner. We are learning to be kind and develop life skills that will benefit them in their future.
I am a first-year teacher learning the ropes of teaching young minds.
We have more than half of our class in the English Language Learning program. Our class is located in a Title I school. I am dedicated to giving my students the best learning experience they can this year.
My Project
I am a first-year teacher to 24 students. As a first-year teacher, my library of books is very minimal. Books provide children with an escape from reality. They help students to explore their creativity. If you donate to our classroom library, you can know that these will be used daily.
Over half of my students are considers English Language Learners.
Having a classroom library will help my students have a greater love for reading, and help them learn the English language. My hope in having a classroom library is providing my students with a safe place to make mistakes. We want to read and learn together.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
