This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first year 2nd grade teacher, I want to create a classroom that’s welcoming, comfortable, and built around student needs.

A cozy carpet will serve as the heart of our classroom, a place for gathering, learning, and building community each day.

Flexible seating stools will give students the freedom to move and choose how they learn best, helping them stay focused and engaged during group and independent work.

Dry erase boards will make lessons interactive and allow for hands on practice with immediate feedback, while clipboards will give students the flexibility to work anywhere in the room. These items will help me build a flexible, student centered space where all learners feel supported, confident, and ready to grow!
