This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first-year teacher who will be teaching English Language Arts & Reading (ELAR) and Social Studies (SS), I am aiming to provide essential supplies for my classroom. These supplies have been carefully selected to increase classroom flow and efficiency as well as allow my students to be self-advocates of their learning. Some supplies I am requesting include a rolling cart with a set of fifteen drawers color-coded for each day of the week activity sheets, a set of stacking stools for flexible seating, clipboards and dry erase boards for learning activities, and a wall calendar.

These supplies will not only help my students self-advocate for their learning, but they will also help me organize and instruct with efficiency as a first-year teacher.

The presentation clicker will help me effectively deliver lessons while the paper sorters will help me separate materials for easier access as needed. The diffuser and lamps are specifically included with keeping in mind that the majority of my students may not have a warm or comforting home environment. These supplies - including the stacking stools mentioned previously - will help create a more welcoming learning environment for my future students. Creating this sort of comfortable environment is among one of my top priorities as a future educator.

I am so excited to begin this new journey and work alongside my future 5th grade students. I am certain that these supplies will help create an inviting and engaging classroom experience all!
