My Project

Greetings everyone! My sincerest gratitude for taking the time to read this and potentially help my students' education. I am a first-year teacher working at a high school where I will be teaching a pull-out English class. My students have diverse needs and require a variety of materials to target their academic needs. The materials I have selected are mostly targeted towards reading as that will be my focus. However, I will be teaching a skills class in addition to a U.S. History class. I have worked at my current school for the past 3 years as a paraprofessional and am so excited to finally be a licensed teacher. The materials I have selected were deliberate and fulfill a need to ensure that my students are set up for success. The balance board will be used for students who need to incorporate movement into their daily routine. For many of the students, I work with, sitting all day is not an option. This will provide movement and adaptability so that when it comes to doing classroom learning, my students will be able to focus. The fluorescent lighting in schools can make many people nervous and anxious so it's important to me that I ensure a calming learning environment. The reading materials will be used to meet my student's IEP goals in reading and the Teachers Pay Teachers will be used to help me continue to differentiate my curriculum based on individual student needs.
