Music class is a great place for early development, whether building musical, social-emotional, or language skills.
First Steps in Music for Preschool and Beyond is a curriculum based on folk songs and traditional tunes.
The goal is to prepare students to become musical by having tunes in their heads and to sing along with those tunes, to feel the beat, and to be moved by music and respond to it. It's a musical workout that grows tuneful, "beatful" (able to keep a steady beat--critical to musicianship!) and artful individuals. Students gain listening, literacy, and musical skills all at once!
