I am one of three kindergarten teachers in a close knit K-5 community school. We strive to provide enriching experiences so that each and every child can reach their academic, social, and emotional potential, regardless of their socioeconomic status. I am proud to watch my students grow and learn every day. My students are a bright, inquisitive bunch of children. Their unique personalities keep me smiling every day. My students are excited to explore the world around them and experience new and engaging STEM technology!
My Project
My school district High School Robotics Team recently hosted a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) event for the second time. After seeing the amazing projects created by this team, I am inspired to bring this science and technology to my younger students!
Using WE DO 2.0, young innovators will have exposure to, and create a basic understanding for, coding and robotics.
They will learn to create a code, which can drive motors, engage sensors, and activate noises. Not only will students build their interest and confidence in math, science, and technology, but they will also challenge their thinking through complex reasoning. They will do all this in a team setting, working together towards a common goal.
This project will allow students to bring their computer programming and coding to a higher level. Students will put their new technology skills to use in FIRST LEGO League Jr (FLL Jr). The materials will give them the opportunity to challenge themselves and to see the possibilities for their future. Thank you for considering a donation to help spark interest and curiosity in this amazing STEM experience!
