Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I will be starting a new chapter next year by moving to first grade! This will be my first time teaching first graders and I am extremely excited about it! With that being said, I need to start thinking about how I want the classroom to look and feel for my students each and every day. That is where my project comes into play.
My project is seeking words of affirmation decorations and a book shelf for picture books!
I want the classroom to be a loving and caring place for students to feel accepted each and every day. The affirmation decorations have loving sayings on them like "You can do hard things!" and "You can do anything you put your mind to!" I would love to remind students how much they matter each school day.
My last item is for a book stand to hold picture books in the classroom. I would love for students to see the variety of diversity books in our classroom to support teaching acceptance and care for all in the room. I hope you see something special in this project and are able to support my first journey into first grade!
