First Impressions, Promoting Math and Reading from Day One
Help me give my students a fun way to learn in reading and math with the Early Folder Games Libraries, a Calendar Math program, and magnetic picture books.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students’ love for school is always a number one priority. That first impression they receive when entering school for their first year goes along way. I strive to give my students a fun and interactive way to learn the foundations of reading and math. Due to COVID-19 it has been challenging to create center time in small groups for students to work collaboratively and get that social interaction while learning. Students always learn best when working with peers and having that dialogue with one another.
These literacy and math folder games I chose will continue to enhance my students’ learning in a fun and exciting way.
They will give them the ability to learn reading and math skills individually at their seat or at carpet time, while staying safe in a socially distanced approach. Having these materials will add to center material and allow me the teacher to implement a center time approach to each student individually, until we can safely work in small groups again. I look forward to getting this project funded and building my student level of excitement in the classroom. Thank you!
