This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Kids are messy! Kids love hands-on projects! Kids love the opportunity to use scissors and glue for interactive learning activities in the classroom! But my students haven't had the chance, as we have NO supplies for cutting or pasting in my classroom. Please help!
My students are incredibly challenged, mostly Hispanic or African American, from a highly economically- and socially-challenged neighborhood.
They have a great deal of behavior issues and most are more than a full year behind academically. My goal for these sweet, innocent kids is to help close the achievement gap that these students face every day, to help empower them to be lifelong learners and high achievers.
My Project
I am requesting scissors, glue sticks, a gallon of 'drippy' glue, a pump for the gallon (so I don't spill it all over the classroom!) and a caddy for storing the supplies for daily use. My class loves working on projects, and they really engage in lessons that have interactive and creative aspects to them. Having these tools will open up a whole new world of guided and independent academic practice!
These simple tools will help expand the ways my students can work, create, and learn in my classroom.
This simple project will have a big impact! Thank you very much for considering us!
