My Project
My first-grade students love learning about birds! We have learned how to identify many common birds in New York City. We will be expanding our study to lots of other kinds of birds, including owls. At the end of the year, I would love to have a bird day celebration where we will dissect owl pellets. Last year's students said that dissecting owl pellets was the grossest and also the coolest thing that they ever did. I know that my students will adore this activity! We could also use two bird books and an insect viewer kit.
