First Graders Need These Books Right Now!

My students need fiction book sets at Guided Reading Levels A and B.

I teach First Grade at a Charter School in a low income district in New York. My students work very hard and deserve every advantage we can give them.

I have a large group of students who are just starting to read, but we don't have enough A and B level books for them to read! When these students are stuck reading the same old books over and over, they are at risk for growing bored and losing interest.

We need these sets of A and B books right now so that students will be able to have some new books to read. Students need books at their own just-right levels to practice the skills that they know and to build confidence in their abilities. We need enough books so that students are not being forced to read the same 10-page books over and over again. With fresh books, students will be able to keep up their enthusiasm for reading.

Your help will keep these at-risk students from losing their love of reading. These new books will ensure that all of our First Graders have the just-right books they need to grow as readers.
