My Project
My first graders are going to be learning a lot of phonics rules and I would love to be able to support them by reading them funny stories about phonics rules. Often, stories are what helps students to remember these tricky rules. We are going to be learning the rule of when to double an f, l, s, or z. We are also going to be learning about when to use ck at the end of words. We could also use nonsense word materials. Nonsense words help students to apply their phonics knowledge. We could use a nonsense word coloring book and nonsense word alien cards. We also need a dry erase magnetic ten frame to use during our morning math routine.
