First Graders Need Pencils! (And Other Supplies)

My students need classroom supplies including: pencils, pens, crayons, glue sticks, white board markers, a weather graph, borders, big books, chart paper, and a date stamper.

This project is fully funded

I teach first grade at a charter school in a very low income area of New York. My students work very hard and deserve to have the tools they need to learn.

We started out the year with many supplies provided by the families of our students. Now, we are running low on pencils, our markers are drying up, chart paper is scarce, and our glue sticks are empty.

We need these supplies to get us through the winter. My students write so much, we go through pencils like crazy. I can't imagine what would happen if we just ran out of pencils. The same goes for chart paper, we use it every day to record what we're learning. Our paper weather station is ripped, this one will last for years and years.

These supplies will give our classroom a new boost to take us through the rest of the year. My students are so excited when they get fresh pencils or new markers. And we will be able to focus on learning without worrying about whether there will be enough paper to record the next poem of the week.
