My Students
Have you ever tried writing with a dry erase marker and it was out of ink? It can be frustrating! We need new dry erase markers to write on dry erase boards. We also need construction paper, white cardstock and printer ink to print off literacy and math games.
Students at our school come from low-income families who face challenges of their own everyday.
Our school has become a 'safe haven' for the students who attend by teaching character education, a strong curriculum, and most importantly providing a welcoming and nurturing environment.
Although our school is a Title I school and 95% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch, we are 80% proficient in reading and math. We are a high performing school even though our resources are limited. I would like to provide my students with more resources in the classroom. I know they will be very excited about having new games made with white cardstock and printer ink, listening center books, and learning centers.
My Project
With the multiple copies of listening center books and CDs, my students will each be able to read a copy of the book as they listen to it. Currently I have 3 students sharing a book at a time at the listening center, because resources and funds are limited. This set includes 4 copies of each book with the matching CD.
We also need white cardstock and ink cartridges for our printers. This will allow me to create more fun and engaging centers for my students to independently use. With your donation, we will be able to provide our students with more activities at their fingertips!
This project is so very important to us because we need these resources to teach our curriculum.
With your help, my students will be able to read their own book at the listening center while listening to the recording on the CD. I will be provided with new literacy comprehension and sight word workbooks. I will also receive white cardstock and printer ink cartridges for creating and printing out new literacy and math centers for the students to use in small groups or partners.
