This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager to read! I want to continue to foster this love for reading by providing them with interactive tools that will help them practice and become more fluent readers.

My students are a fabulous group of first graders who attend a Title 1 school.

They love to learn and have a genuine interest in doing well in school. Although only 6 and 7 years old, they work very hard during the day to meet and exceed the expectations that are placed on them. They are a group of developing readers who need a little extra support and practice in order to continue to be successful.

My Project

I am requesting a variety of materials that I will be able to use with my students during our reading block. These materials will be available to my students during our whole group instruction as we practice our reading skills through fun and interactive activities. Additionally, I will be able to pull small groups of students to focus on a particular skill those students are struggling with. While I am working on this, the other students in the classroom will be able to work in centers where they are able to practice skills we have learned in class with the self-correcting learning games I have requested.

It will give them the confidence they need in order to be successful, while allowing them the opportunity to interact socially with their peers and work together to become better readers.
