My Students
My students are full of questions and curiosity, they want to learn it all, and I want to prepare them for the world of today and tomorrow. A essential piece of our everyday world that is missing from many of their lives is technology.
The First Graders in my class are fun loving, caring, and accepting.
School has only been in session 3 weeks and they have already become a tight knit group that looks out and helps each other. While some use technology everyday in their homes, others do not own a computer or even a smart phone. These students are at a disadvantage in today's techie world. They are behind their peers and will only fall further behind as technology advances and grows. A sad future I want to change with your help.
My Project
We will use the iPad to supplement every area of our curriculum. The amount of apps available means I can download apps to target any skill in any subject area. One student can work on word building while another can practice their addition and subtraction. All while using technology that many of us take for granted. For them, it will be exciting and new! They will be developing technology skills and practicing their academics at the same time. It's a win win situation!
