My Project

My first grade students are energetic, curious, and full of potential. Each day, they walk into the classroom with big hearts and even bigger dreams. Many of them are emerging readers who benefit from multi-sensory, engaging instruction that supports different learning styles. They are not just learning how to read and solve math problems—they are building the foundation for lifelong success. An iPad in our classroom would make a powerful difference, especially as we integrate new augmented reality (AR) apps designed to teach phonics and math in an immersive and exciting way.

With the iPad, students will use over 20 AR apps that let them build letters in 3D space, explore number bonds in a virtual math garden, and sound out words while interacting with colorful characters-These experiences make abstract concepts more concrete, which is essential for early learners.

While Chromebooks are great for typing and simple activities, they lack the touch interface, camera motion capabilities, and processing power needed to support these next-level learning apps. The iPad would also allow for instant voice-to-text support and real-time feedback, making it ideal for students who struggle with fine motor skills or reading fluency.

We Will:

Access to Augmented Reality (AR) apps that teach phonics and math through hands-on, interactive visuals.

Touch-based learning for young learners who need tactile interaction to stay engaged.

Create amazing comic strips of animals and their defenses in science.

Portability for centers, small group work, and flexible seating where Chromebooks are bulky or limiting.

Creative apps for storytelling, drawing, and problem-solving that nurture imagination and higher-order thinking.

My students are special because they are eager learners who deserve every tool available to reach their fullest potential.

Thank you for considering this request and for helping build a learning environment where all students can thrive.
