Help me give my students interesting books to read. Students need to read to succeed. My students love reading about animals. They also enjoy the characters Fly Guy and Pigeon. These books will help expand my classroom library.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
These first grade students have a love of learning. My school district is shifting towards a more student-centered, and student driven learning environment. My classroom consists of 21 first graders who come in every single morning excited about learning, and can’t wait to see what is in store for them that day. Of my 21 students, I have 6 English Language Learners in my classroom as well as 6 students who receive Special Education services.
Our classroom is a community where students respect each other, and the materials and resources in the classroom.
Many of my students mention that they do not have enough supplies and resources to continue their learning at home, so I want to ensure that I am giving my students the best, and most enriching experiences at school every single day. My students are so proud of their work, are extremely helpful to each other, and give 100% effort every single day.
My Project
1st graders love to learn. One of their favorite subjects to talk and learn about is animals. They also love the characters Fly Guy and Pigeon. The You Should Meet reading series introduces students to different important accomplishments from lesser known figures. I would love to expand the classroom library to include more books that interest the students.
