My Students
My students' are the source of my passion as an educator. I serve a population of students who live in the inner city of Houston. The joy and excitement my students experience in my classroom is my ultimate reward. My students come to school daily and allow the reality of their living conditions to minimize as they give me maximum effort in the classroom. As they complete each day they express how being at school makes them feel and how they are eager to return the next day.
My Project
The impact that technology has had on today’s schools has been quite significant. This widespread adoption of technology has completely changed how teachers teach and students learn. Teachers are learning how to teach with emerging technologies (tablets, iPads, Smart Boards, digital cameras, computers), while students are using advanced technology to shape how they learn.
Tablets are the new textbooks!
By embracing and integrating technology in the classroom, I will be setting my students up for a successful life outside of school. Education isn’t just about memorizing facts and vocabulary words, it’s about solving complex problems and being able to collaborate with others. Technology also helps them retain information better.
