My Students

My students are fabulous first graders who are eager to learn! Our typical day includes a lot of reading as more than half of them are reading below level. We need headphones with microphones to take full advantage of the reading program and technology in our classroom. Our goal is 100% on level!

My students are wonderful first graders who attend school in an urban area where most students receive free or reduced price school lunch.

The poverty level is high and many children seem to struggle in their home life. School is a safe haven for them where they can come and escape the troubles of their world and just be kids. At my school, we try to create a comfortable atmosphere in the building where the children feel safe and free to learn and become the best that they can be.

My Project

I am requesting headphones with microphones that my students need to effectively use the computers and technology that we have for them to increase their reading levels. They will be able to listen to stories, and use the microphones to record their reading so that they can get the specific help that they need to achieve.

This project will enable us to make the most of the resources that we are most fortunate to have.

It will change the way that they are learning how to become good readers and allow me to analyze and assist with their reading more often through the use of the computer software that we are able to use.
