My Students
The students in my class are a bright bunch and really look forward to learning about the arts.
Our school in Richmond, California, is considered high poverty and has a diverse student population.
In fact, our school is one of the most ethnically diverse schools in the Bay Area.
My Project
First grade is such an important year for learning math skills.
Place value can be really challenging for young learners.
The ten frames will help students visualize the teen numbers and will also help students count by tens. We do a lot of practice adding and subtracting numbers up to 30 and the ten frames help students map out the the number problems that we are working on.
I like to make some of our math practice feel like a game. The dice are a really fun way to practice adding tens and ones.
