My Students

These students are first graders in California. We are a multicultural classroom with so much to share and learn from each other.

In my first grade classroom, we continually explore, inquire, communicate, collaborate, experiment, practice, create and grow!

I am so proud to be a part of their foundation and help inspire these great little minds! They are all so very excited to learn each day and give their best in our classroom community, as well as in the strong school-wide community we have built.

My Project

Reading is truly a pleasure! I want to provide my students with a listening center where they can choose to read along with a favorite story or listen to something new and challenging.

Listening centers can provide a learning experience for multiple children at the same time.

Reading and listening to stories is a pleasure that students benefit from in so many ways. Audiobooks teach inflection, fluency, and pronunciation. This is a wonderful tool to utilize with new readers at all levels. I can offer RTI (response to intervention) for those who are struggling, practice for on-level students, and challenging texts for advanced readers.
