My Students
My students are first graders in Carlsbad, California. It is nearing the end of our first full year in school and we have so much to cover still! My classroom has a multitude of learning modalities I need to reach from special ed, second languages, speach, to advanced learners.
We are all working from many different types of homes with various situations in place such as dual working parents, children staying with grandparents, and parents working from home juggling homeschooling as well!
My students are eager to learn and are working hard to continue their learning online with the best teaching I can provide through a digital platform!
My Project
Well, I never thought that I would find myself remotely teaching from home, and that my students would be learning new material through Google classroom, Google Meetups, and recorded home videos of me reading a chapter book! We are moving forward and seeing this new platform as a learning opportunity for all!
My students will persevere and still receive my best virtual teaching each day, through this challenging and new learning environment.
I am so proud to be their teacher and I want to provide as much learning to them in their home as I can. With the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards, I will find learning lessons that are interactive and can be done from their Chromebooks without printing out paper or needing too much parental help. I will also find opportunities to extend the learning into the summer so that they have curriculum to bridge this long break from school and not slide too far back. I want to provide for all of my students in the capacity that their home supports!
