My Students
Hello Generous Donors,
I teach first grade in a low-income neighborhood in the heart of Philadelphia.
My classroom this year will be MTSS friendly and will have 22 enthusiastic learners, each will be on a different learning level and I will need to think of creative ways to engage them and keep them focused.
Despite the adversity of the harsh area that surrounds our school and many of their homes. I am in constant awe of the resilience that they show. They come to school wanting to learn and shouldn't let something small like not having a pencil keep them from having their best day.
Our classroom is a safe place where all of my students are encouraged to be themselves and have fun while learning. Because of this, they look forward to coming to school every day.
Thank you for your generosity.
My Project
The students in my classroom each have different ways to learn and trying to keep them all motivated and engaged can be challenging at times.
Our days are better when the whole class is engaged, one way that this happens is when we play educational games on our Smartboard.
The kids are learning, they are engaged, they are motivated, they are having fun, and they don't realize exactly how hard they are working towards achieving their educational goals.
Another way that keeps them focused on lessons is by independently working at their desk whether they are practicing writing their letters, numbers, or just writing their names. To do this we need more dry erase markers, erasers, and pencils to keep our classroom going. The privacy partition holder will help keep our classroom better organized.
