My students need these manipulatives to help explore throughout our math program and the books to help with story elements and act as mentor texts in both reading and writing.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My First grade students at The RCS are full of energy and always eager to learn! They enjoy exploring in math with manipulatives, opening up a new book, and becoming scientists through experiments. Our students come from many different backgrounds and communities some in which do not have access to these types of things. Your donations will help my students grow and have different experiences they may have never had. I look forward to sharing these donations with my students and seeing their faces light up!
My Project
These math tools in my project will help my students explore counting, measuring, addition and subtraction with tens and ones, and identifying and counting coins through our hands on math curriculum.
The books included in my project will assist the students in better understanding story elements, character feelings, and character traits.
They will help my students think deeply about the stories and have conversations with classmates rather than just reading. They will also accompany our reading and writing curriculum and be used as mentor texts.
These resources will all around help my students to grow and make their year in first grade a success.
