First Grade Botanists: Learning All About Plants

My students need hands-on science materials for a unit on plants. They need a sensory dome and root vue farm set to see first hand how plants grow!

My Students

Help us become real botanists by providing us with the materials to see plants grow before our eyes! My first graders need hands-on materials for a science unit on plants.

My students are first graders in a high-poverty, Title 1 School.

They love to learn and they especially love science. For many of my students, science is their favorite subject. They get to learn new facts, ask questions, experiment, and explore new topics. However, they do not have many hands-science materials to use.

My Project

I am asking for materials that will allow my students to get a up-close, real life, and hands-on experience in growing and maintaining healthy plants. I have requested a Sensory Dome, a Root Vue plant viewer, a plant specimen center, and hands-on plant activity center. These materials will allow the unit to come alive for my students. They will be able to watch a plant grow before their eyes! These materials will allow my students to work and learn like real botanists!

It is one thing to learn about plants through books and pictures. It is a whole other thing to experience plants first hand! Please help inspire a new generation of scientists!
