This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Why fit in when you were born to STANDOUT!" Dr. Seuss Every morning my students and I celebrate the learning that will occur for that day!

My beautiful enthusiastic first and second graders are ready for anything.

No challenge is to big for them! I admire this about my "go getter" students especially because some are homeless while the others come from very low income families. The outrageous challenges my students face at home has not defeated them, they are ready to learn and strive for a better life. Their smiles, outlook on life, and determination to succeed has inspire me to become a better teacher everyday. I not only teach a half combo class, but I also volunteered to teach art for all of the first grade classes. Unfortunately, art is ALWAYS the first thing cut to make more time for reading and mathematics. I truly believe that my young artists need to express themselves through art at least once a week.

My Project

Having these requested Prang watercolor pan sets for the children will allow them to discover different artistic techniques. For example, I hope to use the watercolor paint to teach my young artist about Vincent van Gogh and the techniques he used as an artist. We will then use his techniques in order to try and replicate his famous painting Starry Night.

This donation will improve my students' ability to express themselves through art.

Currently we are restricted to construction paper and crayons. Many of my students have NEVER touched or used paint in the lives. Giving my students the opportunity to use paint will better their education, give them a balanced education, and, most of all, will bring joy and smiles to their beautiful faces!
