My Students
How do we get this ready for their future? With technology, that's how.
I teach 20 wonderful children in a kindergarten-first grade combination class in a Title I school.
Over half my class receives free meals at school. Despite their economic hardships, they come to school ready to learn and excited about almost everything.
My Project
Part of teaching a kindergarten-first grade combination class is the need to differentiate my instruction. In doing so, I teach almost everything in small groups all day long. While I am teaching my groups, I would love to give kids the opportunity to use some of the most current technology regarding reading. With a Kindle Fire, my students will be able to access the eBooks that I purchase, and get the assistance that they need to successfully read the book. With the Fire, I will also be able to have students practice skills in reading, spelling, science, and math.
This project is super important because my students would otherwise not be able to access this technology.
I want them to be able to have access to the latest and most engaging technology.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
