My Students

My students are a lovable set of kids who enjoy life! Many come from difficult situations and a tough neighborhood where there are a lot of factors pulling them in every direction to do the wrong thing.

When they come to school, it is often difficult for them to switch into learning mode without the right tools and materials.

As a school, we hope to help our students by giving them an excellent foundation for their further education. My students hold high hopes for their futures, and I hope to equip them to holding themselves to high expectations for their life.

My Project

My students love to move around, and it is fun to work with them on inquiry projects. This year, I am teaming up with our science department to put on a fun activity for the kids, but we need some technology capable of using applications to do this awesome project.

Students will be using iNaturalist to go around the school yard with us to complete a bio blitz.

The students will use the tablets to take pictures and identify the species of the flora around them. In the future, beyond the bioblitz, students will be able to use the tablets in class for a variety of activities including historical and geographic research, and watching class videos and hopefully creating their own content for review.
