The possibilities of improvement for our future, living on the Space Coast, depends on the opportunities and resources we give to these students! Our students are the future rocket scientists, engineers, astronauts, and developers of a better life for the future! Our students are eager to learn and improve on their skills but need the resources to encourage their growth. I am currently a Literacy Coach for a High School in Florida. Our students have incredible potential to save our world as we know it and need continued Literacy development and encouragement to help their future success.
My Project
With the new move to a blended learning model where teachers need to provide instruction for both their in-class students and their e-learners, we find ourselves lacking some technology that would be helpful to our students on campus. Many programs that the teachers are using require their in-class students to have access to technology as well, but we also do not have the number of laptop carts or labs to accommodate all classrooms.
I am specifically looking for a set of Fire 7 Tablets for our Learning Strategies class that is composed of our greatest need students (ESE).
This class focuses on progressing our students with their IEP goals which encompass all subject areas, along with test-taking strategies, personal/social/emotional goals, and a variety of standards-based skills that are needed to improve the students' academic growth. In order to provide intervention and progress through our learning programs, I would like to see this classroom have the opportunity to have these available for their students. This also would give the teacher the opportunity to work with small groups of students on specific skills while the rest of the class is working on an assignment or program that is on an online platform.
