Finish the Year Strong with Paper, Headphones, and Basic Tools

Help me give my students Kaysent Heavy Duty Classroom Headphones, printer paper, and basic tools to assemble standing desks.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Tulgestke's classroom raised $194

My Project

My students work very hard and take great pride when they accomplish a tough lesson. My students come from a low-income/high poverty area and are very diverse, both in race and socioeconomic status. One hundred percent of our students receive free lunch and breakfast. Many have experienced trauma and have some tough home lives, but that doesn't bring them down.

They are enthusiastic about learning and excited to explore new learning opportunities every day!

To promote social distancing and offer scholars the most individualized instruction possible, most of our core instruction takes place in small groups of 6-8 students. Scholars meet with their classroom teacher (me), with a certified academic interventionist, with additional paraprofessionals, and, if applicable, with resource room support each day during their small group 'rotations’.

Scholars also have an independent station where they work on programs to reinforce content taught in class and to enrich their learning.

At this station, scholars may be completing a math puzzle, practicing fact fluency, or working on computer programs such as DreamBox or Lexia. In order to make sure every scholar has the tools they need to be successful at this independent station, and to promote minimal sharing of materials due to Covid-19, I would like to provide my scholars with headphones to use at this station. The headphones will be used to ensure that scholars can get the full benefit from their enrichment programs by using sound, and will not interrupt or distract their neighbors with an audible sound. I would also like to use the printer paper to create individualized enrichment packets to ensure scholars are meeting learning goals. The tools will be used to assemble the standing desks that scholars use as flexible seating throughout the day and ensure the desks are kept in good, safe working conditions.
