Fine Tools for Fine Motor Skills

Help me give my students a variety of fine motor activities to help with building strength needed for writing.

My Project

Many of my students work with an occupational therapist to build fine motor skills.

In preschool, the best way to build fine motor skills is through play.

We are in need of new fine motor materials in order to build the muscles in our fingers. The variety of materials we need include a class set of magic writing boards to work on our grasping of writing materials, stone blocks to help use our hands to stack, small parts to use our pincer grasp, and a variety of lacing toys to help with our hand-eye coordination using our fingers. These materials will be used during our arrival tasks as well as during play time. Offering building toys, writing activities, and lacing tasks throughout our day provides multiple times each day to build our fine motor skills.
