My Project
I am proud of the progress my students have made throughout the year. We are still seeing difficulties with students writing letters and their names. Fine Motor Writing is an important life skill needed for Kindergarten. I have done research on how to help teach students proper letter formations. I learned about a program used by Occupational Therapist called "Handwriting Without Tears". I think my students would benefit from that program to improve their fine motor writing abilities.
Handwriting practice offers significant cognitive and literacy benefits, especially for children, by strengthening fine motor skills, improving reading and spelling, and reinforcing cognitive processes like memory and focus.
My students are also working on number recognition and counting skills. These hands on materials will help to enhance student engagement and their understanding of number concepts.
