Fine Motor in Pre-K

My Project

Using the fine motor tools I have picked out will enhance our early learner's school experiences. Paints, string beads, letters and number boards are just a few things that will help them to be prepared for their educational future. Some of the furniture purchases will be used alongside of other materials requested. I appreciate the opportunity to be in a classroom to help our little learners. We are in a low-income area.

These students love to have new opportunities that are presented to them.

My goal is to use these materials to enhance learning. Using items such as the lacing beads will enhance fine motor skills. The standing whiteboard/magnet board will be used for magnetic gears, dry erase standing letter practice teaching students to cross midline. This will better promote all of the their pre writing skills and fine motor that goes along with it. Our students come from very diverse backgrounds and some have limited access to writing materials at home. The pocket sleeve dry erase sheets could be used to send home for student homework to practice writing their names, letters, and numbers. The sensory table along with the sand would give them opportunities to scoop materials from one bucket to another or put tweezers and pompoms in and use that as a fine motor center. The stampers are also a great multi tool for sensory, fine motor, and letter recognition. Paint brushes again encourage them to stand at an easel and cross midline. This enhances fine motor and brain development.
