My Project
This year, a favorite learning center is what is called our toy area. I have bins of toys that are rotated and they are specially used to enhance fine motor growth. Some of my toys are getting old and it is definitely time for a fine motor toy upgrade!
By having an enhanced collection of fine motor toys, students will have more natural curiosity and interest in the continued development of using their hands to learn.
I noticed during my home visit, that the homes that my students come from are lacking these type of toys. Most homes, had the imaginary toys such as stuffed animals and baby dolls but lacked any kind of toys that helped with fine motor development. It is my hope to give my students an enriched environment with these types of toys and have them learn and build fine motor muscle skills while playing.
