My Project
My students have significant cognitive disabilities and we heavily focus on adaptive skills in our classroom. Fine motor skills like holding tweezers and sorting items, twisting items, hand eye coordination tasks, and other similar fine motor activities are important to master in a multiple disabilities classroom. We are starting an inclusion club at the elementary school where peers will come into the classroom and help my students with fine motor tasks. Inclusion is important for both disabled and non disabled peers alike to foster empathy, create friendships, and promote acceptance at a young age. These tools will be vital for our club to grow and thrive! Thank you!
