My Project

I have a strong belief that sixth graders need opportunities to use their creativity and imagination but also the freedom to make mistakes and try new things. Art creates these opportunities. The 6th grade curriculum lends itself to explore cultures and people, problem solving, forming opinions, and using your voice for good. I see art as a way to connect the curriculum across different disciplines.

I have planned a weekly art unit that includes learning about various art movements and artists and plan to use these materials for art projects that correspond with each unit.

What I’m most excited about is for the students to be able to display their art for parents and peers at an end of year art show.
