My Project
My students are the driving force that keeps me going to be a teacher. They are fun, positive, kind, encouraging, and eager to learn every days. Each one of my students bring such a unique perspective and meaning to the classroom, and I want the books that we read to reflect that.
In my classroom, I want my students to know that they are important, special, unique, and that they belong.
Not all of my students come from a loving home, so I want to do everything that I can to be a constant source of love and validation for them. My goal is to show students that anyone can do anything, and as long as they stay true to themselves, the sky is the limit.
The books that I have chose cover topics like women in STEM, seeing math everywhere, feelings and emotions, and loving yourself. My goal for this project is to get books that my students can connect with. By getting this project funded I will have a head start on creating a classroom environment that is open, welcoming, safe, and loving for my students. I want to meet the needs of each individual student in my classroom, and this project will help me do that.
