Finding Nemo Needs Some Fins

Help me give my students costumes, props and set pieces for their school play!

My Project

Some very talented 3rd graders are so excited to participate in their first ever full-length musical, Finding Nemo Kids! At each rehearsal, they are eager to learn more and more of the material, and I know this production will be a long-lasting memory for them, as well as for our school community.

Finding Nemo takes place in the Great Barrier Reef, and we need lots of help with creating colorful costumes, sets and props so we can transform our stage and dive into this exciting world.

Many students in our production of Finding Nemo have the great responsibility of playing multiple roles, and so they will be wearing black clothing as a base, but we will need help with creating interchangeable pieces that will help them look and feel like each of the characters they play.

We are asking for iridescent fabric so we can make full costumes for characters like Professor Ray (a stingray) and the jellyfish. We need lots of pool noodles to create coral and sea plants for the set, and we need some tutus to create some fish tails. We need some leggings and shirts for students who play just one character, and some floral cones so we can create a blowfish costume!

All of this production will be homemade, and I really believe that supporting this class via these materials will help them develop a stronger sense of autonomy, determination and pride in their show because they will have built it up from sea level!
