My Students
I am a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can certainly control their experiences during the school day.
From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
Kids ring up the fun with everything they need to create a pretend business of their own—and master essential money skills as they play! From working cash registers that let children add and subtract with pretend coins and bills to baskets brimming with realistic play food, this kit is packed with must-have tools for helping kids learn all about money through dramatic play. The kit even includes a set of books for kids to explore exciting jobs and career opportunities!
The financial literacy kit and community helpers will enhance math skills in the classroom while allowing the students to make real world connections!
