This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Thank you for taking time and reading this project. I am a Education Specialist working with students with mild-Moderate disabilities. I use Class token Board Reinforcement to motivate students and to teach concepts and desired positive behaviors. Students earn coins and class money everyday for attendance, punctuality, focus, making right choices and just doing their best. Once every month, I have a class store where students can use their money to buy things.

This has helped me teach students about Financial Literacy.

Students collect coins and once they have enough for a dollar they can exchange coins for currency or exchange dollar notes for higher currency. It is their responsibility to keep a track of their money. Also, it helps to teach students to save for a higher prize item if they desire it. Sometimes, when students are short of money, they have learnt to borrow from friends for a small interest.

This token system has also helped to improve attendance and punctuality in attending school, the Resource class and has kept students motivated to do their best. The coins and notes will be used for token and the candy/snacks will be used for reinforcement and store.
