Financial Literacy: Math in the Fifth Grade Classroom

Help me give my students printer cartridges so they can learn the fifth grade math skills that will enhance their future financial literacy.

My Students

My school is a place where our entire community comes together to ensure all students learn. We strive for academic excellence that focuses on the whole child. We know our students learn best when relationships between teacher and student, between teacher and home, and between students are strong. Our constant goal to to build bridges that keep us all connected.

My fifth graders are 28 of the biggest hearted student who love to learn and delight in mastering new subject matter.

My Project

When I create small group center activities to build my students' math skills, I often print task cards for them. These cards allow my students to work cooperatively with others to solve complex, multi-step math word problems. As students work through the tasks, they face appropriate, productive struggle that helps them achieve and learn math at high levels.

My school gives me a very limited number of copies each school year, so I must provide my own ink and paper for much of the work we do in the classroom.

In order to create these important learning centers for my students, I must provide my own printing. This is where you come in.

Due to the pandemic, and the lack of chips manufactured, it has become very hard to buy quality used cartridges, as I have done in the past. In order to get cartridges with working chips, I must purchase new ones, and they are very expensive. You can help me meet my students needs in math a little at a time by donating what you are able.
