Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The Learning Center is filled with wonderful mix of younger elementary school students and middle schoolers (K-8). My students are referred to the learning center, because they would benefit from extra support. Despite the academic challenges, my students are motivated to learn. They show leadership by coming to the Learning Center on their own, and advocating for themselves by being actively involved in their own education, especially those who have IEPs.

My Project

My students dream big! They want to be a vlogger, content creator, soccer player, tailor, doctor, etc.

No matter what they want to be when they grow up, financial literacy is something that will come in handy in real life.

These tools and school supplies will help my students learn more about their finances, beginning at the basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). Students will also learn how to use the calculator, and techniques on how to make fast math calculations. My students are very motivated when I talk to them about the future, especially when it is something they are passionate about.
