Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing third graders who love to learn, be kind, and make a positive impact on others. We are a Title I school that struggles getting the supplies needed, but our students use their creativity to help find new and different ways to learn.
Each day, my students come to school ready to learn.
Each day provides them with an opportunity to grow their brains and souls. My goal, as their teacher, is to prepare them not only for the end of year assessments but for the world beyond. I want them to embark on the journey of being lifelong learners.
My Project
Financial literacy is a skill all children should have starting at a young age. Teaching students about money will help them discover the relationships between earning, spending and saving. In doing this, children also begin to understand the value of money. I am requesting math journals so that students will learn about financial literacy. My students need daily math journals to practice math skills that are necessary for financial literacy. Using the journals will help make math more engaging and will establish a daily routine. In order to create a real world experience in the classroom, we are requesting financial literacy curriculum materials. I want my students to work in groups and collaborate with each other about current topics that promote global awareness and critical thinking skills. Your help is needed to "ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning" in our students.
