This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The specific items I’m requesting will make a significant difference in my students' learning by providing literature that allows them to explore financial concepts at their own pace. This will give them the chance to build a solid understanding of key ideas in a way that resonates with them. Additionally, incorporating games will add an element of fun to learning about financial literacy, making complex topics more approachable and enjoyable.
My primary goal for this project is to enhance their understanding of financial literacy, a challenging subject that many students struggle with.
What makes my students special is that they come from a predominantly Black and Hispanic population, where financial literacy is often not a topic discussed at home. This makes it even more crucial to introduce them to the importance of everyday financial responsibilities, like having a bank account. By giving them these tools, I hope to bridge that gap and help them develop essential life skills.
