This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 25 enthusiastic students this school year. They are an inquisitive group of 7- and 8-year-olds with varied interests from technology to animals. They are always eager to learn new things. Our school is the heart of their neighborhood.
Some of my students come from challenging home environments.
When they come to school, I want them to have the freedom to be kids and learn new things that will benefit their future. From their experience at an early age, many of the students have learned how to be responsible problem solvers. They deserve to have an excellent education in the best environment possible.
My Project
We have started our lessons on counting coins! Money is always engaging and fun for the kids to learn. These books will be a great support to my instruction. I found these awesome books on another teacher's blog about books that help teach money.
Counting money is an important skill for children to learn to use throughout adulthood.
Alexander Who Used to Be Rich Last Sunday will be an awesome addition to my collection of the author's series. The jump rope will be so fun to use outside as we count our skips at recess.
