Financial Literacy for K/1 Friends

My Students

Our classroom community is made up of a diverse group of kindergarten and first grade students who vary in ethnicity, home language, socioeconomic status, and learning style.

I am committed to creating an equitable learning environment in which all children can grow academically and socially.

In addition to our rigorous curriculum, we also support our students' learning through project based learning. These projects help us demonstrate our learning in ways that are meaningful to us. Students are given the opportunity to direct their own learning and are empowered to express their understanding in their unique way.

My Project

This iPad mini, case, and headphones will allow our class to engage with the world of financial literacy. We will explore apps and programs that will support our understanding of how money works in the world.

As 21st Century learners, this technology will give my students access to learn how people earn money, how we as responsible individuals can manage money, how we can invest it, or how we can donate money to help others.

With the iPad mini and the accessories, students will be able to utilize applications to learn about financial literacy and how to understand money. Students will be able to identify and count currency and discover causes they would like to save money for and support. These donations will help to support a healthy relationship with money and increase our understanding of the financial world.
