This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school with students from second to sixth grade. My students are from the inner city and mostly English language learners. They are hardworking, self-motivated young people who are eager to be lifelong learners.

The school's philosophy focuses on leadership skills, with an emphasis on being a critical thinker.

Scholars use 21st century skills when working in and outside of the classroom.

My scholars want to be the first in their families to attend an institution of higher learning.

My Project

This project will allow students to make connections between financial literacy and Math. In order to build financial literacy having an understanding of math is necessary. All the material requested will be put to use immediately.

Financial literacy is important because students will be able to learn how to manage money in all ways possible.

This helps them spend wisely at all times. Students can learn more about making money, and saving. Students will use the graph paper and pens to take notes on how to add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals. Being able to understanding this concept is vital to saving money. The staple remover are needed for work stations.
