My Project

My deaf students at Texas School for the Deaf desperately need help building real-life financial skills. Interactive games like Monopoly and Payday provide critical hands-on practice with money management. As students budget, invest, take loans, and pay bills within the games, they gain financial literacy in an engaging way. However, most families cannot afford these games. Donations of financial board games to my classroom would be life-changing. With an accessible library of financial literacy board games, all my deaf students could develop vital skills to make wise financial decisions.

Mastering personal finance may be the most valuable lesson my deaf students learn.

Yet it is extremely difficult to teach without repeated, interactive practice. Educational board games provide ideal experiential learning. As my students play games mimicking real monetary situations, they actively develop critical money management skills. But most deaf students lack access to these powerful learning tools. With donated financial literacy games, I could create a classroom library for equal access. These games make financial education interactive, hands-on, and practical. With enough repetition, my deaf students will gain knowledge to make smart financial choices for life.
