Financial Literacy and More Part II

My Students

All students are special. That is what makes teaching such a great profession. It is inspiring to see them light up when they master a new concept or when they are proud of a project they completed.

The ability to close the achievement gap in our school is predicated on teachers not only having the heart to teach but also the tools needed to facilitate that learning.

Having 21st-century learning is a vision for our school.

My students come from many different cultural backgrounds. That is the beauty of our school. Our school is in the middle of Silicon Valley. Hence, technology is an important component of​ our school, though our school community also believes in the arts. Music is very important to our students, teachers, and parents.

My Project

The Apple Pencil will allow my students to work remotely during our math lessons. They will be able to engage directly with hands-on technology.

The Apple Pencil will allow the students to work remotely and demonstrate their financial literacy and real world mathematical understanding.

The students will be able to write directly onto the iPad using the Apple Pencil. The engagement through the use of the Apple Pencil will take the mathematical learning to another level.

Understanding how to solve real-world math problems and finances is important to financial success later in life. Students always ask how math applies to real life. Financial literacy is a direct application.
